The cakes represent the beauty in fleeting
moments of anticipation. The cake lit with
candles is the beginning and end of a of
measured time, a year of growth, hopes, regrets
and union.  Cake is a part of our life in such a
permanent and impermanent  way.  We use
them for various occasions, and then they are
gone.  I aim to capture  something  tangible
from an experience that is so much about
anticipation.   My cakes tend to be abstract.
They are more of an expression of my favorite
elements of cake; decadence, color, and
texture.
